Olive Young just opened its first U.S. store — and it's nothing like Sephora or Ulta. GlowJob's Julia & Sasa break down the Pasadena flagship, the four-block opening day line, and what's actually on the shelves (spoiler: it's not all K-beauty).
Then we sit down with Sarah Chung Park, CEO of Landing International — the woman behind 225+ K-beauty brand launches in the U.S. — to talk about Olive Young's new Sephora partnership, what makes a brand worth importing, and the second wave of K-beauty.
What we cover:
Inside the Pasadena store: 5,000 products, 400 brands, hours-long lines
Why Urban Decay and CeraVe are sitting next to Korean skincare
The colored contact lens section (with an ophthalmologist on-site)
Why your favorite Korean sunscreens still aren't on shelves
Olive Young's surprise partnership with Sephora — 700 stores, starting fall 2026
Sarah Chung Park on picking brands, the "chicken sexer" instinct, and what counts as K-beauty now

GAP, Coach, and Marc Jacobs Beauty all flatlined — and now they're back and thriving. This week we break down what a real brand comeback actually takes.
This week we're breaking down three of the biggest brand comebacks happening right now — how gap went from worst rebrand ever to the met gala, why coach intentionally shrank itself to survive, and the marc jacobs beauty relaunch that sold out in days. nostalgia is part of it, but the real story is in the financial decisions, creative direction, and cultural timing that separate a true comeback from a one-off tiktok moment.

Thursday May 21, 2026

This week on GlowJob, Sasa and Julia break down the long-awaited Devil Wears Prada sequel with the deep dive it deserves. They set the scene by unpacking the seismic cultural shifts of the past 20 years — the collapse of print media, the rise of fast fashion, how TikTok killed seasonality, and why Miranda Priestly's kind of power simply doesn't exist anymore. The cerulean sweater speech made sense in 2006. Does the sequel make sense in 2026?
They dig into everything: the character arcs (or lack thereof), the surprisingly softened Miranda Priestly, the Emily-as-Lauren-Bezos subplot, the AAPI representation debate, and how Condé Nast essentially co-signed a movie about its own industry's decline. Plus — Meryl Streep brokered a favored nations deal so her co-stars each walked away with $12.5 million. Classy queen behavior.
Then, celebrity makeup artist Kelly Zhang joins the pod to break down her signature "no-makeup" makeup philosophy, her proprietary 3-to-5 golden ratio face-mapping technique, and her pro tips on concealer order, blush color selection, cream vs. powder, and the one product she says instantly elevates any routine.
Whether you're a fashion girlie, a film nerd, or just someone who wants flawless skin — this episode has it all.

A bachelorette party on a private Boeing 737. Sixteen influencers. A villa in St. Barts. And a beauty brand with under 3,000 Instagram followers footing the bill. When Swan Beauty's lavish influencer trip hit TikTok, the internet erupted, convinced this was VC money being recklessly burned. But they were wrong.
In this episode of GlowJob, Julia & Sasa pull back the curtain on Swan Beauty, the $795 AI mirror founded by Colby Mitchell — and the powerful family office quietly backing it.
We also get into what a family office actually is versus venture capital (and why those rules are completely different), the full breakdown of the St. Barts trip spend, the mind-blowing analytics that followed , and how Swan's acquisition of luxury retailer Cos Bar was the chess move nobody is talking about.
Then we zoom out and compare the Mitchell playbook to the family that perfected it: the Kardashian-Jenners — their biggest wins (Skims, Kylie Cosmetics, 818 Tequila), their quiet failures, and what both families reveal about the rise of the passion project economy.

If you've ever been on the receiving end of an "Oxford study 👀" comment on TikTok (or been the one to drop it), this episode is for you.
This week on GlowJob, Sasa and Julia are breaking down one of the most misused, misunderstood, and weaponized pieces of internet "evidence" in AAPI culture: the so-called Oxford Study. Spoiler: it's a media analysis paper about TV commercials. It has nothing to do with Asian women's psychology — and the original author is horrified by how it's being used.
In this episode, we trace how we actually got here — from the "comfort women" of WWII to US military bases across Asia, Hollywood's 120-year run of submissive Asian woman narratives (Suzy Wong, Madame Butterfly, Miss Saigon, Memoirs of a Geisha), the model minority myth, and today's passport dude phenomenon.
Then we get personal: the red flags of an Asian fetish, the desexualization of Asian men, K-pop's cultural reset, and the very complicated question of Asian women who only date white men— and why that's not as simple as the comment section wants it to be.
This is GlowJob's AAPI Heritage Month episode — unfiltered, nuanced, and long overdue.

We brought a certified sex therapist to GlowJob — and she did not hold back. Sex and relationship expert Dr. Shamyra, founder of On The Green Couch, joined Julia & Sasa to break down everything from dating apps to kink to why your foreplay game is probably starting way too late.
We get into the real questions couples avoid: What are the core values you need to align on before committing? What's actually going on with Gen Z and sex? Is the alternative dating app Feeld changing how people date? And what's the difference between a kink and a fetish (hint: doggy style counts as kink)?
Dr. Shamyra also explains why "we have communication problems" is almost never the real issue, what andropause is and why men need to know about it, how to introduce kink using only things you already have at home, and why foreplay starts the second your last sexual encounter ends.
Honest, hilarious, and genuinely educational — this episode will change how you think about intimacy.
